Cluster Director of Engineering

Workplace: Pik Palace and Park Chalet, Shahdag Hotel Company

Scope of Work

To ensure the efficient and economic operation of the Engineering Department in support of all other operating Departments, supplying services as required to the entire operation, and maintaining equipment, building, and grounds in optimum condition.

Responsibilities:              

• Developing and implementing industry’s best engineering practices and processes 
• Overseeing Engineering team and providing guidance as and when required 
• Developing departmental goals and strategies 
• Preparing and presenting annual budget and plans 
• Train engineering department staff on correct maintenance procedures and assists in repairs as needed.
• Maintain, monitor and test hotel's emergency and security systems, features like Fire Alarm, CCTV, baggage scanners etc.
• Ensure maintenance staff is wearing proper uniforms with name tag and upholds hotels grooming and hygiene standards.
• Responsible for quality service, meeting/exceeding financial goals, short and long term planning and day-to-day operations.
• Recruiting and training new staff 
• Building and maintaining long-term business relations with internal and external stakeholders 
• Ensuring that the projects timelines are met 
• Coordinating with the Project Engineer in reviewing various project progress reports 
• Ensuring proper maintenance of all electrical equipment 
• Examining and keeping up-to-date with new technological developments 
• Overseeing the installation and testing of various engineering products 
• Evaluating and confirming product designs and structures 
• Discussing and negotiating contract terms and conditions with vendors and clients

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering 
• Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years maintenance senior role experience in a 5-star luxury hotel.
• Complete knowledge of engineering best practices and processes 
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Good communication, presentation, and negotiation skills 
• Strong leadership qualities 
• Good time management and project management skills 
• Highly motivated and detail-oriented individual 
• Ability to offer excellent customer service
