Transport Planner / Urban Environment Engineer

The transport planner / urban environment engineer is responsible for developing comprehensive schemes for urban area improvements, designing modern public spaces, and humanizing transport infrastructure, the specialist ensures the integration of sustainable mobility principles, pedestrianization, and traffic safety into the urban environment

Responsibilities:

●      Develop and implement comprehensive schemes for urban territory improvement and design modern, comfortable public spaces.

●      Design pedestrian zones and transform excess automobile spaces into safe streets and squares applying traffic calming principles.

●      Create Traffic Management Plans adapted for modern urban concepts, prioritizing public transport, pedestrians, and cyclists.

●      Conduct transport modeling to evaluate the impact of proposed changes (e.g., traffic flow redistribution during street pedestrianization) based on real data.

Prepare high-quality justifications, in-depth analytical reports, and visual presentations to defend design solutions before top management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

●      Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Transport Engineering, Urban Planning, or Traffic Management.

●      Proven experience of at least 2 years in transport planning and modeling.

●      Proficiency in specialized software: AutoCAD (for traffic management plans) and QGIS (for spatial data analysis), as well as advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.

●      Skills in spatial data and design visualization. Experience with microsimulation software (PTV Vissim) is a strong advantage.

●      Upper-Intermediate or higher level of English proficiency. Knowledge of Azerbaijani and/or Turkish is an additional advantage.

●      High degree of autonomy, ability to independently break down tasks, analytical thinking, and readiness to take responsibility for final results.
