- Develop, maintain, and apply gas distribution network models using industry-recognized commercial modelling packages.
- Analyze large gas distribution network datasets using SCADA, GIS, and other operational data sources.
- Apply data processing, statistical techniques, and data-driven modelling approaches to support network planning, optimization, and risk assessment.
- Interpret and apply UK gas industry standards, regulations, statutory requirements, and regulatory priorities in all modelling activities.
- Produce high-quality technical reports, model outputs, and written analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of new modelling tools, methodologies, and research aligned with future industry needs.
- Deliver training and technical support to internal staff and external clients on gas distribution modelling tools and methodologies.
- Act as a subject matter expert, supporting capability development across the modelling team
- Support successful project delivery by providing robust technical input, problem-solving, and quality assurance.
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposals, technical scopes, and client engagement.
- Support innovation initiatives and continuous improvement in modelling practices.
- Demonstrate solid leadership through critical thinking, independent decision-making, and proactive problem-solving.
- Work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues across the gas modelling and wider engineering teams.
- Take initiative to identify issues, develop solutions, and drive progress without close supervision.
Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant subject area (e.g. Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science) or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with gas distribution commercial modelling software.
- Strong skills in SCADA and GIS applied to large gas distribution networks.
- Advanced data processing, statistical analysis, and data-driven modelling skills.
- Solid understanding of UK gas industry best practice, regulation, and statutory requirements.
- Proven ability to analyze data and produce clear, well-structured written outputs.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively manage tasks.
- Strong team player, committed to collaboration and knowledge sharing
- Strong proficiency in Azerbaijani and English (written and verbal) Russian language is a plus
