Description

  • Develop and update the English curriculum in line with the international curriculum framework;
  • Collaborate with other department heads to ensure interdisciplinary approaches and consistent academic policies;
  • Oversee the quality of teaching within the department, ensuring innovative and effective teaching methods are applied;
  • Mentor and support English teachers by providing professional development opportunities, including training and workshops;
  • Conduct classroom observations and give constructive feedback to improve teaching quality;
  • Develop department-specific assessments to measure student performance, including external assessments like standardized tests;
  • Oversee student progress tracking systems and reporting to parents;
  • Manage department resources, including textbooks, supplementary materials (OPPs),quizes and technology used in the classroom;
  • Create and maintain a library of teaching resources for teachers’ use;
  • Communicate with parents regarding student progress, assessments, and any concerns that arise related to English learning;
  • Developing long-term strategies for the English department, including curriculum updates, resource planning and staff development. Aligning departmental goals with the school’s overall mission, vision, and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities


  • Master’s degree in English, Education, or Educational Leadership is highly desirable. Specialized qualifications in teaching English as a second language;
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of teaching experience, preferably in international or multicultural environments;
  • Strong understanding of the Cambridge Curriculum. Experience in curriculum development, assessment design, and teaching methodologies;
  • Familiarity with educational technology, such as learning management systems, student information systems and teaching tools used in blended learning environments;
  • Fluency in multiple languages (especially English and Russian language);
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in school policies, student needs, or educational technology;
  • Flexibility in adjusting teaching methods, curriculum design, and staff management strategies as necessary.
