Description

  • Manage and maintain MS SQL and PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability, security, and performance;
  • Develop, implement, and regularly test backup and recovery procedures to safeguard data;
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, troubleshooting slow queries, and improving overall efficiency;
  • Implement and manage security protocols to protect sensitive data, including access control, encryption, and auditing;
  • Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patches, minimizing downtime;
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in case of data loss or corruption;
  • Create scripts and automate regular database maintenance tasks using appropriate tools;
  • Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to support database-driven applications;
  • Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and changes;
  • Establishment, adjustment, and management of automated processes;
  • Monitoring database systems and providing performance tuning recommendations;
  • Ensuring the stability of database systems by setting up and optimizing various High Availability functionalities;
  • Deep knowledge of SQL and databases (ability to write and optimize complex queries);
  • Identifying and resolving potential risks and issues at the system, object, and script levels of database systems;
  • Planning and executing database, instance, and server-level migrations across versions and operating systems;
  • Providing and implementing solutions for data, database, and system-level optimization processes;
  • Planning and executing the setup of new and different database environments;
  • Carrying out assigned tasks within designated projects and processes;
  • Analytical thinking and the ability to quickly understand and resolve problems;
  • Adaptability to assigned tasks and the ability to conduct independent research.

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Work experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a DBA, with a strong focus on MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
  • Technical skills: MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, General Database Management
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: SQL Server Database Administrator, or PostgreSQL Certified Professional are a plus.
