Director of Engineering

Absheron Hotel Group is looking for a talented and experienced Director of Engineering to join the pre-opening team of Meysari Grand Hotel & SPA.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a key leadership role in the successful opening and operation of a new landmark hospitality property, overseeing engineering, maintenance, safety, and technical operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all Engineering and Maintenance operations, including preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Ensure efficient operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, BMS, fire & life safety, generators, boilers, elevators, and other technical systems.
• Develop and control preventive maintenance programs, energy consumption, engineering budgets, and CAPEX projects.
• Ensure full compliance with HSE, fire safety, statutory inspections, and local regulations.
• Manage contractors, suppliers, warranties, technical documentation, and service agreements.
• Lead, train, and develop the Engineering team and ensure 24/7 technical support.
• Support hotel opening, commissioning, snagging, handover, and major technical projects.
• Work closely with Operations and Management to minimize downtime and maintain guest comfort and service standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of engineering experience, including 3–5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in a 5-star hotel or luxury hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, MEP, BMS, fire & life safety, energy management, and preventive maintenance systems.
• Proven experience with budgets, CAPEX, contractors, technical projects, and team management.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, planning, and crisis-management skills.
• Good command of English; Azerbaijani required. Russian is an advantage.
• Pre-opening or large-scale hotel opening experience is highly preferred.
