· Understands requirements for each event and group, and prepares sales-related documents throughout the sales process (e.g., proposals, banquet event orders, group rooming list, and group resume).
· Demonstrates successful proposal development and presentation skills including strong oral and written communication skills.
· Manages group room blocks and meeting space for average to large-sized assigned groups.
· Responsible for the input of events and group bookings into Opera Sales & Catering.
· Conducts site inspections in the absence of a proactive sales person.
· Assists Head of EBC, Sales Managers, and Sales Executives in all related office and sales support duties such as phone coverage, typing, copying, and faxing.
· Ensures that events progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating with other employees, and ensuring accuracy.
· Responsible for preparing all event documentation and coordinates with an appropriate, proactive salesperson and property departments to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout pre-event, event, and post-event phases of property events.
· Understands competitors' strengths and weaknesses and know how to sell against them.
· Conducts targeted account research to determine potential.
· Solicits and qualifies existing accounts which don`t have account owners, and searches for new accounts whose business opportunities meet company criteria.
· Provides positive and aggressive sales activities to achieve personal revenue goals, collaborating with proactive salespeople.
· Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with customers, associates and third parties that reflect highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
· Proven ability to work under pressure and meet multiple tight deadlines.
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office with excellent typing skills.
· Strong problem solving, analytical, reasoning, motivating, organizational abilities.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Confidentiality.
· Flexible and possess the initiative to see all assignments and projects through to completion unsupervised.
· Highly personable.
· Fluent in English/Azeri/Russian both written and verbal required. Turkish desirable.
· Minimum of one year working experience, preferably within events and the group’s sales environment.
