Head of Expansion

Bravo is seeking an accomplished Head of Expansion to lead its multiyear store network growth strategy. The role will own expansion strategy, property development, and the growth pipeline—ensuring the right markets, locations, investment returns, and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Portfolio

• Develop and execute Bravo’s expansion strategy and store development roadmap.
• Define priority markets, store formats, portfolio targets, and market-entry opportunities.
• Assess market potential, demographics, competition, and economic trends to identify growth opportunities.
• Maintain a high-quality pipeline aligned with growth and profitability objectives.

Property & Commercial Development

• Identify, evaluate, and acquire strategic locations.
• Lead negotiations with landlords, developers, and property owners to secure attractive commercial terms.
• Build strong relationships with key real estate partners.
• Ensure property decisions meet commercial, operational, investment, and long-term portfolio objectives.
• Own financial evaluation and business cases for expansion projects.
• Partner with Finance to ensure disciplined capital allocation.
• Monitor key KPIs including pipeline quality, investment efficiency, delivery, and post-opening performance.
• Use post-opening performance and market insights to improve future location, format, and investment decisions.
• Continuously enhance expansion tools, processes, and decision-making.

Leadership & Delivery

• Build and lead a high-performing Expansion team.
• Establish effective governance, processes, and performance standards.
• Coordinate cross-functional delivery with Construction, Operations, Procurement, Legal, and Finance.
• Resolve critical issues affecting timelines, investment, and commercial outcomes.
• Provide senior leadership with expansion plans, recommendations, market insights, and portfolio updates.
• Present investment proposals and performance to executive management.
• Represent Bravo in strategic negotiations and maintain key external relationships.

• 10+ years of experience in retail expansion, real estate, property development, commercial strategy, or related fields, with significant leadership experience.
• Proven track record in large-scale retail expansion or multi-site development, ideally in grocery, supermarket, FMCG, or large-format retail.
• Strong expertise in site selection, property acquisition, leasing, and commercial negotiations.
• Experience developing and executing multi-year growth strategies.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including investment evaluation, business cases, and capital allocation.
• Proven ability to build teams and lead complex cross-functional programs.
• Excellent negotiation, influencing, analytical, strategic, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to balance long-term strategy with strong execution in a fast-growing environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Fluent Azerbaijani and strong English proficiency.
