Senior System Engineer

·       Configuring internal systems;

·       Diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues;

·       Check and upgrade the system infrastructure;

·       Monitor the performance of servers, software, and hardware;

·       Ensure the smooth deployment of new application;

·       Plan, test, and implement upgrades for our information systems;

·       Integrate new software applications;

·       Manage devices on our network through Active Directory;

·       Manage user access;

·       Configure Servers hardware;

·       Ensure servers and firewalls are working correctly;

·       Develop and apply best practices;

·       Coordinate with vendors as needed;

·       Run performance reports;

·       Is responsible for the installation and configuration of new software and hardware, including the server network, devices, and firewalls;

·       Is responsible for monitoring system performance, IT system operations and storage utilization;

·       To plan for necessary hardware or software upgrades to support system growth;

·       Manages user accounts, and assigns and updates security permissions on the system according to security policy;

·       Administer and support core Microsoft, and VMware technologies;

·       Group Policy design and configuration;

·       Linux administration;

·       Installation, Optimization, and Maintenance of Servers: Ensure the installation, optimization, and stable operation of servers running Linux distributions (Red Hat, Oracle Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu);

· Active Directory user and group administration.

·       Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (master’s preferred);

·       Knowledge of Systems and Architectures: Advanced knowledge of systems (Linux/Windows), distributed computing architectures (client-server, intranet/internet), hardware platforms, and resources—CPU, memory, virtualization, clustering;

·       A minimum of 5 years' experience in system administration;

·       Solid understanding of Office 365 and MS Cloud;

·       Good knowledge of at least one scripting language;

·       Good knowledge of system security techniques;

·       Scripting experience is a plus;

·       Experience with VMware is preferred;

·       Experience with storage devices HPE 3par, MSA;

·       Experience in HPE storage systems;

·       Comfortable working with various operating systems;

·       Having at least one of CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or Linux certifications ( RHCSA or RHCE) is advantage;

·       Experience in Backup systems as a Veeam Backup;

·       Experience in M365 & Azure, experience in M365 migration. Design and implement Azure cloud strategy;

·       Administer and support core Microsoft, and VMware technologies;

·       Work and security processes of servers and data;

·       Good FTP file server knowledge;

·       Support the environment setups required for development, testing, and production systems;

·       Enhance business systems by providing accurate information about business needs and priorities;

·       Manage the consistent use of agreed tools and methods to address and resolve user identified problems in line with service level agreements;

·       Excellent oral and written communication skills in Azerbaijani, Russian, and English;

·       Proficient use of MS Office;

·       Attention to detail, and a drive to be successful; ability to work independently with minimal supervision or assistance;

·       Strong problem-solving skills, innovation, collaboration, analysis

·       Ability to resolve user complaints and concerns;

·       Strategic mindset;

·       Strong troubleshooting and communication skills;

·       Strong knowledge of Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL, Rocky Linux, or Debian;

·       Experience with Linux installation, configuration, troubleshooting, patching, and system upgrades;

·       Strong understanding of Linux file systems, permissions, users/groups, processes, and services;

·       Experience with systemd, SSH, cron, log management, and package management;

·       Understanding of Linux security, hardening, firewall configuration, SSH security, and access control;

·       Experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, or similar;

·  Knowledge of automation/configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform.
