Facade Engineer

JOB ACCOUNTABILITY

• Prepare, review, and evaluate technical design drawings, calculations, and specifications for building facade systems (curtain walls, structural glazing, cladding, and skylights)
• Inspect on-site installation, structural integrity, weatherproofing, and thermal performance of facade elements to ensure compliance with project standards
• Coordinate closely with site architects, structural engineers, and contractors to resolve technical facade interfaces and design discrepancies
• Review contractor submittals, material samples, shop drawings, and mock-up test results for facade systems
• Conduct quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) site inspections and prepare detailed technical inspection reports

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field

Specific areas of expertise:

• Building envelope systems, glass and aluminum facade engineering, structural load calculation for facades, thermal and waterproofing insulation details, local and international building codes (ASTM, EN, BS)

Work experience:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in facade engineering and site installation supervision, preferably within large-scale commercial, residential, hospitality, or mixed-use construction projects

Language and computer programs knowledge:

• Strong knowledge and proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and structural/facade analysis software (e.g., Strand7, RFEM, or similar)
• Working knowledge of English and Azerbaijani

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• In-depth understanding of facade material testing, structural engineering fundamentals, and complex architectural detailing
• High motivation, detail orientation, and ability to meet strict project deadlines
• Strong site inspection skills and capability to manage technical discussions with sub-contractors and consultants
