Data Analyst – Smart Grid & Metering Analytics

The Data Analyst – Smart Grid & Metering Analytics is responsible for analyzing smart meter data, communication trends, consumption behavior, billing determinants, reconciliation outputs, and customer experience insights across the AMI ecosystem. The role supports multiple technical streams including HES, MDM, Billing, UFG, GIS, AI/XMS, Simulation Engine, Contact Center Analytics, and Deployment. Reporting directly to the Technical Lead ensures clear governance while supporting all cross-functional analytical needs.

Analyze meter read availability, communication performance, and data completeness.

Identify network, device, firmware, and cluster-level performance issues.

Reconcile and validate data across HES, MDM, Billing, and GIS systems.

Analyze UFG, losses, consumption variances, and anomaly patterns.

Validate billing determinants and investigate billing exceptions.

Analyze AI/XMS insights, simulations, forecasts, and what-if scenarios.

Correlate Contact Center KPIs with metering and billing issues.

Support deployment planning through readiness, productivity, and performance insights.

Monitor meter alarms, tamper events, and device health indicators.

Develop Power BI dashboards and deliver concise analytical reports.

Ensure data quality and validation during onboarding and integrations.

Reguirements

Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

2–4 years of hands-on experience in data analytics; exposure to utilities, IoT, telecom, or AMI is preferred.

Solid proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and Excel, with strong data visualization skills.

Working knowledge of AMI systems (HES, MDM, Billing); hands-on experience is a plus.

Basic to intermediate exposure to AI/ML analytics, simulation tools, or XMS platforms.

Strong analytical thinking with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in large datasets.

Comfortable collaborating across teams while reporting to a Technical Lead.

Clear communication and documentation skills.

Professional working proficiency in Azerbaijani and English (Russian is an advantage)
